About Us “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)  Common Courtesies' mission is to encourage all children to be the best citizens of society they can be. If we show children the way to behave and live, they will have the essential tools needed to make it in today's society. The children are our future!  Sonja Garlin, founder and program director of Common Courtesies-Beyond Please & Thank You, has had a long time passion to show children the way to the future and the secret to becoming successful. Garlin provides etiquette workshops, hoping to enrich the lives of youth and help build their self esteem and self-confidence. She is a certified teacher and has taught on the elementary level in both private and public schools. As an educator, Sonja admits that 'please' and 'thank you' can sometimes take you places an education may not. She lives by the motto: Each One Teach One.
